On Wednesday 13 of February 2019 in Canberra, the new Czech ambassador handed over his letters of credence to the Governor General of Australia, Peter Cosgrove, and by doing so officially assumed his function.
After handing over his letters of credence to the Governor General, a short, informal conversation was exchanged between the ambassador and the Governor General, taking place, as always, in a friendly atmosphere.
The ambassador, accompanied by a representative of the Australian Foreign Minister, also carried out a military inspection of the assembled Guard of Honour and Royal Military Band, which then played the Czech and Australian national anthem.
The ceremony was followed by a late lunch, hosted by Sir Peter Cosgrove, which was attended by all of the newly named ambassadors.
