1) Personal application at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Canberra

- It is not necessary to fill out an application form to obtain a Czech Criminal Record. The application will be generated during your appointment

- a valid ID card or passport of the Czech Republic is required

- we can issue a translation of the extract into English as standard

- the generated Czech Criminal Record is usually issued to citizens of the Czech Republic on the spot, in case of a request for information from the criminal record of another EU country, the document is available within 25 working days.

The fees for the preparation of the Czech Criminal Record and its verification are set out in the Consular Fee Schedule.

The applicable fee for the Criminal Record is CZK 200, the translation fee is CZK 650 (per page of the translation) and the subsequent verification fee is CZK 300, converted into Australian dollars (the amount of the consular fees changes each month according to the current CZK/AUD exchange rate).

2) Online - Through the Public Administration Portal

A citizen of the Czech Republic can request an electronic Czech Criminal Record, via the Citizen Portal, if they have established an electronic identity (e.g. a data box). A data box can also be set up using other forms of electronic identification - e.g. bank identity, e-citizen - see information here.

The electronic Czech Criminal Record is free of charge and can be obtained within a few minutes.

Applicants are advised to check whether the electronic Czech Criminal Record will be accepted for their purposes. An official translation will then need to be arranged with an accredited translator (NAATI) for use in Australia and New Zealand.
