Make an appointment for tourism visa

Every Wednesday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., registration will take place to receive applications for the purpose of tourism. The waiting period for an appointment might be 5- 7 weeks.

1. Send a registration email to the following email address: cairo.tourism@mzv.gov.cz. The request must be addressed directly to the specified e‑mail address designated for placing orders (i.e., the given e‑mail address must not be listed only in the CC field of the sent e‑mail).

2. Indicate your passport number in the email subject line.

3. In the body of the email, include the following information: full name (as it appears on your travel document), type of visa and purpose of stay. Additionally, if applicable, include the names of your spouse and children if you are applying jointly.

4. Attach the following documents to the e-mail (in .pdf format only):

  1. a scan of the passport data page,
  2. a scan of the valid residence permit (in the case of third-country nationals).

5.  Applicants who are not citizens of the countries belonging to the territorial jurisdiction of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo must also attach proof that they have been permitted to reside in the country within the territorial jurisdiction of the Embassy for at least three months of non-touristic residence preceding the application. If residence cannot be proven, the applicant must submit the application in their home country.

6. 1 applicant = 1 e-mail. Submit only one email per applicant. Only one applicant can be submitted in each email.

The only exceptions are: when minor children apply with a parent (→ parent includes minor children in their application) or when a family is applying (→ one family member includes minor children and spouse in their application).

Due to the strong anti‑spam protection used by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, we recommend sending the application for each applicant from a different e‑mail address.

7. Your e-mail will be processed electronically by a system based on a randomized element.

8. The following emails will be disqualified from the registration process:

(i) emails that are not sent in the format specified in point 2 and 3,

(ii) emails that do not include the attachments referred to in point 4,

iii) emails in which the applicant attempts to register multiple applicants in one submission**

(iv) emails that are sent multiple times by one applicant,

v) emails sent outside the specified registration period,

vi) emails with attachments larger than 10 MB.

9. Wait for the confirmation. The Embassy will inform you within 7 days whether or not a submission date has been assigned.

10. If you do not receive confirmation of an assigned appointment within 7 days, it implies that your registration for an appointment was either unsuccessful or was not sent in accordance with the terms and conditions of the registration process.

11. The assigned date cannot be changed. If you fail to show up for your appointment, the assigned date becomes invalid. If you arrive late without prior apology, your appointment will also be cancelled - in such a case, the Embassy will proceed with other applicants who arrived on time.

Number of applications accepted for a given period: 5

*The email addresses provided are for visa/residency application appointments only. They are not intended for general communication or answering inquiries.

**Applicants acknowledge that the mzv.gov.cz email domain is protected by advanced cybersecurity systems. Therefore, emails identified as spam (in the event that a larger number of e‑mails are sent from a single e‑mail mailbox) or potentially harmful, those exhibiting signs of automated mass distribution, originating from IP addresses or domains on security blacklists, or those failing to meet or exceeding the established security parameters of the domain, may be excluded from the registration process. The use of automated tools, bots, scripts, or any other software for mass distribution of registration emails will be classified as a cyber threat, and such emails will be excluded from registration.

Nejčastější chyby/FAQ:

1. Include only your passport number in the subject line.

No other characters are permitted (e.g., Re.:, Fwd:, etc.).

2. Email registration will take place on the above-mentioned date.

Emails received at cairo.tourism@mzv.gov.cz before or after the designated registration period will be disregarded and excluded from the registration process. The time of delivery of the email to the mailbox is determining.

3. Due to the cybersecurity measures of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, we recommend sending your email during the first hours of the registration period, rather than at the end.

4. Each applicant may send only one email.

If multiple emails are sent on behalf of the same applicant within the given deadline, the applicant will be automatically excluded from the registration, even if the emails are sent from different email addresses.

5. Email applications must include copies of the following documents in PDF format only:

  • A scanned copy of the data page of the applicant’s travel document and,
  • In case of third nationals, a long-term residence permit in Egypt – see point 6.

6. Citizens of countries other than Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea, Yemen and the Gaza Strip may only participate in the registration if they have been residing in Egypt for more than three months non-touristic residence on the basis of a long-term residence permit. A scan of this residence permit must be included in PDF format in the registration email together with the other required attachment.

7. Registration emails that are not sent directly to the designated email address, but only copied in CC, will be excluded from the registration process.

8. Registration emails where the sender has activated a restriction preventing replies (such as disabling receipt of confirmation replies) will be excluded from the registration process.
