Reception for Czechia's national holidays at the Embassy in Budapest

On September 25, 2025, a reception was held at the Embassy in Budapest for Czechia's national holidays, namely Czech Statehood Day (September 28) and the Day of the Establishment of Independent Czechoslovakia (October 28). 

The reception was opened with a speech by Eva Dvořáková, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Hungary. In her speech, she highlighted a number of remarkable historical events that have shaped the close relations between Czechia and Hungary to this day. He was followed by the main guest of the reception, Mr. Mihály Balla, a long-time member of the Hungarian National Assembly, Chairman of the National Group in the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Vice-Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Chairman of the Parliamentary Hungarian-Czech Friendship Group. In his speech, Mr. Balla highlighted the long-standing interparliamentary cooperation and emphasized that despite occasional differences of opinion, relations between the Czech Republic and Hungary remain friendly. He also emphasized the cooperation between a number of institutions of both countries at the working level. At the end of the introductory part of the reception, Ambassador Dvořáková presented László Vajányi with a medal for services to diplomacy, which was awarded to him by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jan Lipavský. The reception then continued with guests mingling and enjoying refreshments.
