On December 3, 2025, Czech President Petr Pavel attended the Visegrad Group Presidents' Summit in Esztergom.
Czech President Petr Pavel attended the summit at the Saint Adalbert Theological Centre in Esztergom together with Slovak President Peter Pellegrini and Polish President Karol Nawrocki at the invitation of Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok. The summit of the V4 presidents was held on the occasion of the Hungarian V4 Presidency under the title "Competitive Visegrad."
President Petr Pavel made the following statement on the course of the summit:
"Cultivating good neighborly relations and strengthening ties between people form the basis of our cooperation in the Visegrad Group. Even though we disagree on some fundamental issues today, we are bound by historical, cultural, and geographical proximity. Our task is to work together to ensure the prosperity of our region and the entire European Union. At today's meeting, we therefore discussed with the presidents of the V4 countries how to deepen cooperation in the fields of science, innovation, and artificial intelligence. For 25 years, the International Visegrad Fund has been a key tool in this regard, supporting joint projects and, in recent years, directing a significant portion of its resources to support Ukraine. This is an investment in a safer, more resilient, and more stable Europe."
