Three Czech soldiers killed in suicide attack in Afghanistan

In an early morning of the 5th of August, when regularly patrolling together with Afghan soldiers, three Czech staff of the NATO support mission in Afghanistan perished. The suicide attack, later claimed by the Taliban, took place in Charikar, the Capital of Parwan region. Three other patrol members – one American and two Afghans - were hurt.

The Czech Republic contributes by 250 personnel to the NATO mission in Afghanistan. Until today and including the most recent attack, we have lost thirteen soldiers.
