Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Hungary Ms. Eva Dvořáková visited spa towns of Hévíz and Zalakaros located in Zala County in the southwestern part of Hungary. The two towns are connected not only by the fact that they both have hot springs with healing effects, but also by the fact that tourists from Czechia play a very important role among their foreign visitors.
During the meetings with the mayors of both towns, Gábor Papp and Ferenc Novák, the Czech Ambassador discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of tourism as well as possibilities of involving Czech companies in the further development of both towns.
At the same time, Ambassador Eva Dvořáková visited the Balaton International Airport in Hévíz. This airport, which in the past served as a military base for the Soviet air force, should undergo a process of modernization. The study of the airport's development until 2050 (the so-called master plan) was prepared by the Czech company SIEBERT + TALAŠ, which previously prepared a similar development studies e.g. for Leoš Janáček International Airport in Ostrava or M. R. Štefánik International Airport in Bratislava.
