During their visit, Senators Pavel Fischer, Martin Červíček and Tomáš Czernin honoured the memory of Czech soldiers who fell during the First World War by laying a wreath at the military cemetery in Medgidia. The delegation also visited the 57th Air Base “Air Captain Constantin Cantacuzino,” a symbol of Romania’s modern defence capabilities and a site of Czech-Romanian cooperation.

In Bucharest, the senators held comprehensive discussions on current security and foreign policy issues with members of the Foreign Policy Committee, the Committee on Defence, Public Order and National Security, and the European Affairs Committee of the Romanian Senate. They were also received by the Vice-President of the Senate, Mr Robert Cazanciuc.

The delegation also appreciated the opportunity to engage with the Inspector General of the Romanian Police, Mr Benone-Marian Matei.
