On Friday 19 April, one of the most prominent music festivals in Belgium, Lunalia 2024, opened in Mechelen.

This year's programme has a very strong Czech footprint. A number of renowned Czech artists and young up-and-coming musicians have performed or will perform. There will also be a number of music works by some of the most famous Czech composers performed in the course of the festival.
During the first weekend, performers included Simona Šaturová and the Zemlinski Quartet, young pianists Alexandr Klement, Klára Gibišová and Nora Lubbadová, and Iva Bittová with the Jedlinský - Fischer Duo.
Friday's opening ceremony and Saturday's programme were attended by the Czech Ambassador to Belgium Jakub Skalník.
