From 29 September to 2 October 2026, Belgium hosted OpenLivingLab Days 2026, attended by representatives of Czech universities, municipalities, businesses, and other organizations involved
in operating or establishing living labs as part of a project promoting economic diplomacy. OpenLivingLab Days is an annual event organized by the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL). It is a global gathering that brings together living labs, public officials, academics, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators from around the world. The event provides a unique platform for networking, sharing best practices, collaborating on cutting-edge projects, and reflecting on the latest trends in innovation.
As a kick-off event ahead of the conference, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Brussels organized a round table dedicated to the topic of living labs. The event took place on Tuesday, 29 September 2026, at the premises of the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the European Union and was intended for Czech conference participants.
The round table programme featured keynote contributions from Wim De Kinderen, President of ENoLL and Director for European Affairs at the Brussels office of Brainport Eindhoven, and Jelena Vidović, representative of the European Commission. The Czech living labs ecosystem was presented by Jakub Hruška of CzechInvest/CzechBusiness, who also moderated the subsequent discussion. Mr Hruška serves as the Head of the Czech Living Labs Platform (CZELLAP).
The participation of the Czech delegation at OpenLivingLab Days 2026 and the organization of the round table were supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic under the economic diplomacy support programme.
