The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bern would like to inform you that the Faculty of Science of Charles University in Prague will open a new course of a two-year follow-up Master's degree programme in Demography, which will be taught in English and in a hybrid (combined) form in the upcoming academic year.
The programme was prepared at the beginning of this decade in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) with the aim to educate "national" experts in population issues who, after completing their studies, will remain and work in their country of origin, i.e. there, where they are usually most needed. For this reason, most of the teaching is done online and only two months onsite, mainly practical teaching - one month in the second half of each academic year.
This programme is mostly studied by working people - experts from other fields, typically younger or middle aged. However, the programme is also open to recent bachelor's degree graduates, practically regardless of their original specialization.
This is a unique opportunity to obtain a university degree in demography, which deals with the causes and consequences of demographic changes, which the UN ranks among the five key global trends determining the future shape of the world.
Those interested in this study programme will find an information letter and a flyer with basic information about the study program, application deadline and sources of additional information in attachment.
