On August 31, representatives of Czech companies, importers of Czech goods and their local distributors gathered together for a networking event hosted by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing in cooperation with Škoda Auto company.
After the almost three-year Covid-19 pandemic, when travelling not only between China and other countries, but also even between Chinese provinces, was complicated, this was the first meeting of the Czech-Chinese business community at the Embassy.
Czech Ambassador to the PRC, H.E. Vladimír Tomšík, opened the event with a speech. He mentioned the irreplaceable role of Czech companies abroad, which through their activities help spread the good name of the Czech Republic. Whether it is cars, crystal, beer or many others, it is our traditional products with which many Chinese people associate our country. Representatives of the political-economic section then briefly presented the Embassy's priorities for the coming weeks and months.
The event, attended by approximately 40 representatives of Czech companies, aimed not only to renew contacts and ties, but also to help share experiences and find new partnerships. In this aspect it was undoubtedly successful, as the event was attended by companies already established on the Chinese market, as well as companies that are just trying to penetrate the local market. For companies that do not yet operate on the Chinese market, but are interested in doing so, participation in the so-called "Czech National Pavilion" project on the JD.com e-commerce platform can be an interesting start. It was founded in the fall of 2021 by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing together with the CzechTrade agency, and it is an ideal opportunity to "test" the Chinese market for new interested companies.
