On September 18, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing, in cooperation with Škoda Auto, organized a networking seminar entitled "Globalization vs. Deglobalization", which was attended by approximately 50 guests, mainly entrepreneurs and representatives of companies operating in China.
The event aimed to review the past years, when the economic mindset of a number of companies and countries shifted from the tendency to globalize production to greater caution and steps leading to deglobalization. After a long covid break, this was the second event held at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing, in which representatives of Czech companies from various provinces of China could participate.
H.E. Ambassador Vladimír Tomšík opened the event with his speech, in which he described the transition of the global economy as he experienced it in China during his more than four years of work. The strict anti-covid conditions in China have taken their toll on global retail chains, often leading to large-scale closures of entire cities, which inevitably resulted in delays in processing and shipping orders. This, of course, also affected Czech companies, which during the seminar shared their experience of operating on the local market in recent years.
