China as the Partner Country of the 58th International Engineering Fair

For the first time in the history of International Engineering Fairs in Brno, China participated as the main partner country of the 58th International Engineering Fair. About 70 companies exhibited their products on an area of 3,900 square meters. Chinese exposition was regarded as the largest ever exhibition of China at the current International Engineering Fairs. Visitors to the exhibition thus could get acquainted with the advanced industrial technologies and products of Chinese enterprises, as well as other major companies from different areas of the Chinese economy (aerospace, automotive, energy, shipbuilding, metal processing, casting, welding, etc.).
The main eye catcher of the Chinese exposition was the model of a high-speed train of China Railways. Another attraction was the Rainbow Fish, the first Chinese submarine able to dive to a depth of 11,000 meters from Shanghai Rainbowfish Ocean Technology Co. Among exhibitors there have also been companies such as Shanghai Electric or Yanfeng Automotive Interiors, the world's largest supplier of automotive interior components who plans to build a plant in Planá nad Lužnicí in the near future. The traditional Gold medal for outstanding exhibit received the strategic investor of the Czech turbine manufacturer EKOL, Shaanxi Blower Group or Xi'an Shaangu Power, respectively, for the Blast Furnace Recovery Turbine - BPRT.
Chinese main exposition generally highlighted the image of Chinese enterprises as well as advanced industrial technology. Zhejiang exposition, on the other hand, introduced Zhejiang province as one of the engineering developed areas in China (engineering is one of the traditional industries here and generates about 30% of the total turnover of the province).
Over the years, machinery industry has been one of the traditional and still promising sectors of bilateral cooperation between the Czech Republic and China. Moreover, its future orientation towards robotics and industrial automation makes it possible to link the national programs for industry development of both governments, such are the strategies Made in China 2025 and Industry 4.0, and through joined hands support the outset of industrial revolution. Czech Republic identifies this cooperation as an opportunity to strengthen scientific and technological innovation, cooperate in production capacity and mutual trade.
As part of the “China – The Partner country of International Engineering Fair 2016” concept, number of accompanying events has taken place such as the Czech-Chinese Business Forum, B2B meetings, Meeting point with trade counsellors (including Beijing) and directors of CzechTrade offices abroad, including the Chinese reception.
