The diplomats jointly commemorated the 35th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution, which launched fundamental social changes and brought both countries back to democracy and the rule of law. The basic democratic values ​​with regard to Chinese characteristics were part of a broader discussion between the colleagues.

On November 17, both countries commemorate the Day of Struggle for Freedom and Democracy - a day of honoring the courage and sacrifices in the fight for freedom. November 17 is also International Students' Day.
