Official Visit of the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Tomio Okamura to China

From 20 to 24 July 2026, an official visit of the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Tomio Okamura, took place in the People's Republic of China. The delegation included Member of Parliament Renáta Vesecká and a multi-sector business mission led by the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen bilateral trade, tourism exchange, and cultural cooperation.
Tomio Okamura was received by his counterpart, Chairman of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji, as well as by the Chairman of China's top political advisory body Wang Huning. The main topics of discussion included the expansion of direct air connections and the further easing of visa policies between the two countries. The program also featured business forums in Shanghai and Beijing attended by more than 100 Czech and Chinese companies, and visits by the delegation to leading Chinese enterprises in the aviation and tourism sectors, the automotive industry, and digital commerce.
