Summer Schools of Slavonic Studies 2026

This article provides information about scholarships for the Summer Schools of Slavic Studies in 2026, which offer intensive courses in Czech language and culture in the Czech Republic. The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing accepts applications from interested candidates no later than March 8, 2026.

The Summer Schools of Slavic Studies (LŠSS) are study courses organized by several public universities in the Czech Republic. The courses take place annually during July and August. Their duration ranges from 3 to 4 weeks. The duration of the course is determined by the organizing school.

The courses are intended for foreign students, experts (pedagogues, translators, interpreters) and academics in the field of Czech and Slavic studies who are over 18 years old. However, with their broad scope, they are also open to all those interested in the Czech language, literature, history and culture.

Within their educational blocks, the individual organizing schools offer Czech language courses at various levels of proficiency, seminars focused on Czech literature, culture and history, leisure activities including theater, music and dance performances, excursions, sightseeing trips, etc.

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic offers 4 scholarships for students from China.

The following Czech universities will organize study courses in 2026 for applicants from the People's Republic of China:

 

- Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague

(Summer school date: July 16 - August 13, 2026)

 

- Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University in Brno

(Summer school date: July 18 - August 15, 2026)

 

- Faculty of Arts, Palacký University in Olomouc

(Summer school date: July 11 - August 9, 2026)

 

If you are interested, please fill out the application form (by hand or on the computer), sign it in your own hand, print it out and send it together with your CV in Czech or English no later than March 8, 2026 to the following address:

Successful applicants will be informed directly by the individual institutions to which they applied. The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing can only accept printed and signed applications. Any scholarship applications sent by individual applicants directly to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic or to the institution providing the Summer School courses will not be processed.
