The main theme of this year´s Biennale was "Light of Life" - in reaction to impressions and returning hope after gradually receding pandemic of Covid-19, or in the context of sports spirit of the Winter Olympic Games 2022 that were happening nearly simultaneously. Due to epidemiological limitations on travel as well as transportation, it was impossible to bring new works of our artists directly from Czech Republic. The organizers had to exclude also special national expositions, one of which our Embassy was originally planning to show. The BIAB bureau has chosen works of the two Czech artists who have lived and worked in Beijing for a long time – Ms. Dan Gajdošová and Mr. Jiří Straka.

The opening was, for epidemiologic reasons, held for a limited number of invitees. Nevertheless, next to the pieces by artists from other eleven European countries, art by our two Czech artists has been enjoyed by thousands of visitors in the prestigious CNMU. Thank you for representing us!
