Documents to Be Attached to the Registration Email

To prove the length, legality and continuity of their residence, applicants must attach scanned copies of the following documents to the email requesting registration or an appointment:

• Registration for submitting an Employee Card application; or
• Appointment for submitting a long-term visa or long-term residence permit application.

The following documents must be attached:

1. the applicant’s HKID;
2. the applicant’s current Hong Kong visa or e-Visa;
3. any other documents proving the applicant’s actual residence, employment and history of entries into and departures from Hong Kong.

All documents must be complete and legible and must comply with the technical requirements applicable to the relevant registration procedure.

An interruption of employment, an extended stay outside Hong Kong, or any period not covered by a valid residence permit may affect the assessment of the continuity of residence.

Failure to submit the required documents, discrepancies between the documents, or failure to prove continuous legal residence may result in a finding that the territorial jurisdiction of the diplomatic mission has not been established. In such a case, the application cannot be accepted by the diplomatic mission concerned.
