To submit a Schengen visa application, contact the visa center in Bangkok. When preparing your application we recommend to follow the checklists prepared by the visa center according to the purposes of journey.

Applicants submit Schengen visa applications in the visa centerThe following categories of applicants can submit their applications directly at the consulate: (1) family members of EU citizens, (2) holders of diplomatic or official passports, (3) members of official delegations, (4) family members of staff of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Prague and (5) persons travelling in urgent humanitarian situations. These categories of applicants can still choose to submit their applications in the visa center. To apply directly at the consulate, schedule your appointment by e-mail at bangkok.consulate@mzv.gov.cz.

To submit a long-term visa / residence permit application, schedule your appointment by e-mail at bangkok.visa@mzv.gov.cz.

Applicants for employee cards included in an economic migration program do not need to schedule appointments – appointments are provided by the consulate. All other applicants for employee cards schedule their appointments following the instructions given here.

Schengen visa collection: Monday - Friday, 1 - 4 p.m. in the visa center

Long-term visa collection: Monday - Friday during the office hours based on consulate´s notification – upon collecting the visa, present a proof that you have bought travel medical insurance covering the duration of the visa

Document legalization and superlegalization: during office hours based on appointment scheduled by e-mail at bangkok.consulate@mzv.gov.cz

TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bangkok accepts Schengen visa and long-term visa / residence permit applications of citizens of Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar and long-term/permanent residents in these countries.

Citizens of Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar need a visa for short-term (up to 90 days) and long-term (over 90 days) stays in Czechia / Schengen Area.

Citizens of Cambodia can file Schengen visa applications also at an Embassy of France in Phnom Penh, which represents Czechia for Schengen visas processing in Cambodia.

Citizens of Laos can file Schengen visa applications also at an Embassy of France in Vientiane, which represents Czechia for Schengen visas processing in Laos.

Citizens of Myanmar can file Schengen visa applications also at an Embassy of France in Rangoon, which represents Czechia for Schengen visas processing in Myanmar.

Applicants who are residents, but not citizens, in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar can apply for a long-term visa / residence permit at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bangkok only if they have resided in these countries for at least the past two years. When registering your appointment, do attach a copy of your residence permit. If you do not fulfil this condition, do file your application in your home country. Please pay close attention to the visa information on this website and do not e-mail us with requests for general information that is available on the website.

We usually reply to specific e-mail inquiries within 2 days.

We provide phone consultations daily between 2 - 4 p.m.

The consulate does not provide information on visa application status during the legal review period. The consulate notifies the applicant as soon as the decision is made. You can check the status of your long-term visa / residence permit application here.

Complaint according to Art. 47(1)(j) as specified in Art. 38(5) of the Visa Code can be sent to the e-mail address bangkok.consulate@mzv.gov.cz.

The consulate does not use social networks to communicate about visas.

FEES

Visa / residence permit fees for application submission are collected upon application submission by card in Czech Crowns (CZK) or in cash in Thai Baths (THB).

LANGUAGE

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bangkok communicates in Czech and English when processing visa and residence permit applications. If the applicant understands neither of these languages, he/she must arrange for an interpreter when applying for a long-term visa / residence permit, at his/her costs. Examinations are conducted in Czech only. If the applicant does not speak Czech, he/she must arrange for an interpreter for the purposes of examination, at his/her costs.

The consulate also does not receive public during Thai public holidays.
