We are pleased to launch a call for proposals for Small Scale Projects (SSPs) for the year 2025 managed by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bangkok.
Deadline for submissions is October 9, 2024.
QUALIFYING PROJECTS:
The projects can focus on various sectors – for example environment, agriculture, health, education, social services etc. All projects should be based on the principle of sustainability - that is sustaining the benefits for the long term without an additional external support.
AVAILABLE FUNDING:
A project can be funded with a budget from 200,000 CZK (approx. 8,500 USD) to 500,000 CZK (approx. 22,000 USD) maximum. Co-funding from the implementer or other external sources is welcome. Total cost of salaries/fees, subsistence allowances, accommodation, travel cost and eventual insurance and vaccination of the experts must not exceed 25 % of the project´s total costs. Maximum SSP duration is from signing of the Contract (approx. March) to end of October, i.e. 7 months in total.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO SUBMIT A PROPOSAL AND IMPLEMENT A SSP:
Only non-political and non-governmental organizations with legal personality in Thailand or Laos can submit an SSP proposal and implement it in the respective country, including:
- local non-governmental, community and not-for-profit organizations,
- local academic institutions working on local projects,
- international or regional non-governmental organizations working with local partners.
Implementer must be eligible to sign contract with our Embassy/MFA CZ that establishes jurisdiction of Czech laws and Czech courts. It is desirable that the implementer would cooperate with Czech subjects, e.g. would purchase Czech products, use Czech know-how etc.

TIMETABLE OF PROJECTS:
- Interested entities should submit their proposals to the Embassy of the Czech Republic no later than October 9, 2024. Please note that both electronic and paper versions of the submission are required. This deadline is final and cannot be extended due to the necessary following procedural steps!!! So please, PLAN AHEAD.
- Already submitted proposals could be re-submitted or amended only before the above-mentioned deadline. Therefore, the applicants should consider sending the proposals well ahead of the deadline, as our Embassy staff will have time to go through them and point out possible missing information or inconsistencies.
- The assessment of the proposals will take several months and will be completed by March 2025.
- Successful applicants should sign a contract for the SSP implementation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic before the end of March 2025.
- All SSP activities should be finished no later than October 31, 2025. However, due to the fact that it is necessary to finish all the paperwork and inspection/monitoring of project results, it is recommended that all project activities are finished by October 15 at the latest.
- SSP implementators must submit a Final Report and all relevant financial documents to the Embassy of the Czech Republic as soon as possible after the SSP conclusion, no later than November 15, 2025.
Please download and use the attached Identification Form below in order to submit your proposal. Only proposals duly prepared and submitted in this form and in line with these instructions will be admitted for evaluation.
Project calculations in terms of financial requirements must be filled in using either USD, EUR, or THB as project/local currencies in order to facilitate conversion to CZK. For projects in Laos, please DO NOT fill the financial calculations in LAK; use USD, EUR or THB instead. Please, do not fill in the financial requirements in CZK, as this will be added later.
Please bear in mind that currency fluctuations need to be taken into account. SSP contracts will be quoted in CZK. The approved CZK amount is final and cannot be changed. It is thus necessary to consider this during the SSP budget allocation in the Identification Form.
Please make sure all the documents are in English or the translation to English is attached. The final assessment is made in Prague and there is no capacity to work in Thai or Lao languages there.
Tangible assets of the project should be always marked with a logo of the Czech development cooperation. In the case of project’s intangible assets, it is always necessary to mention the financial support of the Czech development cooperation.
Should you have any questions regarding this call for proposals, please send them to the email: Michal.Sveda@mzv.gov.cz
