This competition was a first of its kind in Thailand and was jointly organized by the CzechTrade office in Bangkok, the IBERD institute of the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, and the Czech crystal chandelier company ArtGlass. ArtGlass company is also one of the exhibitors at ARCHITECT 2016.

A total of 93 designs was submitted for evaluation within this award competition, out of which 10 best had the opportunity to be presented to a jury of design experts, including representatives of ArtGlass, during the award ceremony. Three best designs were awarded a financial bonus and colored crystal cups. The overall winner moreover obtained a fully-paid study trip to the Czech Republic including a specialized program by the ArtGlass company.

The owner of ArtGlass company, Mr. Vlastimil Vaclavu, considered all of the final ten designs to be of very high quality, and he mentioned that choosing the final winner was by no means an easy task. Apart from idea, design and original approach, the jury also took the actual feasibility of the design into account.
