Land borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan remain closed

03.09.2026 / 18:02 | Aktualizováno: 03.09.2026 / 18:07

All land (and sea) borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan (i.e. border crossings with Russia, Georgia, Turkey and Iran) are closed for regular travel (for example, for tourism or visiting family and friends) as part of a special quarantine regime in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Only holders of a special permit can cross the land (and sea) Azerbaijani border crossings (a special permit to cross the Azerbaijani land or sea borders cannot be obtained for tourist trips or family and friends visits in any case).
The date of opening the land and sea borders for tourists is not yet known.

As soon as the Azerbaijani land and sea borders are reopened for regular crossing (i.e., for tourists), we will immediately inform the public about this via this website.

Currently, you can only travel to the Republic of Azerbaijan (for example, for tourism) by air.
