A new stage of the project has been initiated on 28^th March, 2017, when the Karavalli village (located in the Shamakha region, about 100 kilometers west of Baku) was visited by the delagation from the Czech Embassy along with the experienced Czech architects Ms. Jitka Dvorska of the company NIMBUS Architects Ltd. With Ms. Dvorska’s help the delegation was able to assess the situation on the ground, which was essential prerequisite for the preparation of the comprehensive reconstruction plan of one of the school buildings. The final choice fell on the building, where the youngest classes are being currently thought and where planned reconstruction works are supposed to bring the highest added value. The reconstruction itself will be carried out using the state-of-the-art technologies and materials. As a result, the amount of energy the building needs to operate should be significantly reduced.

The project itself was originally launched in November last year under the auspices of the Czech Ambassador to Azerbaijan H.E. Vitezslav Pivonka. The launching event consisted of series of lectures for teachers from Shamakha region. During those lectures, invited foreign expert presented the Azerbaijani teachers ways how to make the issue of energy efficiency more comprehensive and interesting for their pupils.  Theoretical lecture was followed by a demonstrative lesson by our expert in Karavalli village school.

The “Energy-Efficient School” project represents a truly exceptional undertaking in terms of activities of the Czech Embassies abroad. It aims to fully capitalize on synergies created by cooperation between the public and private sectors. Through joining the project Czech companies will be presented with unprecedented opportunity to promote their products and services, which will help them greatly to secure their access to the promising Azerbaijani market.
