As part of the PROPED - economic diplomacy support project, CzechTrade, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Baku and with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, organized an exceptionally successful presentation of Czech companies.
The fair took place during the 30th anniversary Caspian Construction Week at the Baku Expo Center and attracted more than 10,000 professional visitors from the fields of construction, energy, and technology.
This year’s Caspian Construction Week, which included exhibitions such as BakuBuild, Rebuild Karabakh, Aquatherm Baku, Plastex Caspian, and Road & Traffic, confirmed Azerbaijan’s position as one of the most dynamically developing centers in the region. Around 250 exhibitors from 14 countries participated, including Uzbekistan, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, China, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Belarus, Bulgaria, and the Czech Republic. The Aquatherm pavilion was bustling with activity, and the interest from professionals exceeded all expectations.
The Czech Republic was represented under the PROPED project by three top-tier companies showcasing solutions that prove Czech industry has much to offer on the international stage:
- RAVAK impressed with its designer bathroom equipment and modern wellness zone solutions.
- LICON HEAT introduced the latest generation of energy-efficient convectors with intelligent temperature control.
- THERMONA presented new-generation gas and electric boilers, noted for their reliability and environmentally friendly operation.
In addition to the above-mentioned companies, another Czech firm, FRÝDLANTSKÉ Strojírny, had a stand at BakuBuild–2025. Besides engineering production, they manufacture production lines for mineral wool, drying chambers for the textile, paper, rubber, plastics, glass, and paint industries.
The strong impression made by the Czech exhibition did not go unnoticed. The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Baku received the “For the Best Corporate Style” award from the event organizers for outstanding presentation and visual consistency of the Czech stand. This recognition confirms the high level of the Czech Republic’s presentation and the professionalism with which the stand was prepared and managed.
Azerbaijan is currently undergoing significant transformation. Construction is one of the fastest-growing sectors of the Azerbaijani economy and plays a key role in diversifying an economy long dominated by the oil industry. At the fair, it was noted that the construction sector contributes nearly 7% to the country’s GDP and includes over 19,000 registered enterprises. Massive investments in infrastructure and the reconstruction of the Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur regions – with more than USD 10 billion allocated for post-war recovery – create broad opportunities for foreign suppliers of modern construction materials and technologies.
Following the loss of the Russian market, Czech companies are successfully establishing themselves in Azerbaijan, which offers a stable environment, high investment potential, and growing demand for energy-saving technologies.
The currently implemented strategy “Azerbaijan 2030: Vision of the Future” is nearing the end of its first phase, with an additional USD 7.5 billion expected to be invested by the end of 2026. Total investments will reach USD 30 billion. For the period 2027–2030, another nearly USD 9 billion is planned. These investments represent a unique opportunity for Czech companies to increase their share in a new market and gain new resources for further development.
