“Play,” or “Learning About the World Through Play”

The theme of the 53rd International Children’s Art Exhibition “Lidice” was “Play,” or “Learning About the World Through Play.” Diplomas sent from Lidice were presented to four awarded children from Azerbaijan by Ambassador Milan Sedláček.
In the 53rd year of the competition, held under the subtitle “Can we still play in ways other than with our phones?”, pupils from five schools in Azerbaijan took part. Four children – Akbar Mutalibov, Fatima Rasulzade, Madina Bayramli, and Ismayil Alizadeh – received an Honourable Mention.
On December 10, 2025, a meeting with the awarded children, their parents, and school teachers took place at the Czech Embassy in Baku, during which Ambassador Milan Sedláček presented the diplomas sent from Lidice.
The International Children’s Art Exhibition Lidice (https://www.mdvv-lidice.cz/) was established to honour the memory of the child victims from the Czech village of Lidice, which was destroyed by German Nazis in 1942, as well as to commemorate all other children who have died in war conflicts.
