Marek Novotný Quartet at the 2022 Baku Piano Festival

A Czech jazz quartet with Marek Novotný (piano), Libor Šmoldas (guitar), Maksim Makagonov (bass) and Tomáš Hobzek (drums) performed at the Baku Landmark Orange Grove on 25 May 2022. Co-organized by the Czech Embassy, the concert took place in the framework of the Baku Piano Festival, organized by Mr. Shahin Novrasli.
The Czech composer, arranger and pianist Dr. Marek Novotný received his PhD in music theory. In 2010, Marek finished his masters in jazz composition at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he received a full scholarship under the tutelage of the Grammy award winner Jeffrey Holmes. Marek Novotný graduated with a „Summer Suite“ consisting of five movements for a reduced symphonic orchestra.
