Czech and German Embassies in Baku Commemorate 30 Years of Freedom

On 11 – 24 November 2019, Embassies of the Czech Republic and Germany in Azerbaijan are organising a series of events commemorating the 30th anniversary of freedom brought to our countries by the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia.
On 11 November at 17:00, the commemoration started at the Kapellhaus (28 May Street 35, Baku) by opening speeches of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic, H.E. Milan Ekert and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, H.E. Wolfgang Manig, followed by an English-language lecture on the Transnational Aspects of the Czechoslovak 1989 Events by Dr. Oldřich Tůma (Institute of Contemporary History, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic) and a moderated discussion.
