Ambassador Milan Sedlaáček met with the Rector of Baku Slavic University (BSU) Dr. Anar Naghiyev on May 14, 2025. The possibilities of further increasing cooperation between BSU and Czech universities and promoting the teaching of Czech language at BSU were discussed.
Currently, there should be cca 50 students of Czech language at the Baku Slavic University (BSU) in the fields of linguistics and translation. Department of West Slavic languages has been established there, where Czech is taught together with Polish. There is also a ‘Centre of Czech Language and Culture’ at BSU. One of the important partner universities for BSU is Charles University (UK). Among others, for example Masaryk University is also interested in cooperation. BSU and UK emphasize reciprocal, mutually beneficial cooperation, BSU is interested in teaching Azerbaijani at Charles University.
