In Azerbaijan's Hirkan and Altyaghach National Parks, a presentation on marking new hiking trails using the proven Czech marking methodology took place in late April and early May 2023.
The presentation by the Czech expert Ivo Dokoupil was a follow-up to the first project from 2019, when 14 km of hiking trails in Azerbaijani parks were already marked in this way.
The project was carried out in cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Baku, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, the management of both national parks and the municipality of Lenkoran.
The launch of the narking included the planting of seedlings of Parrotia Persica tree near Hirkan National Park and also restocking in the Khanbulan reservoir. Both these events were personally attended by Czech Ambassador Milan Sedláček, Minister of Environment Mukhtar Babayev, Mayor of Lenkoran Taleh Karashov, Director of Hirkan NP Chingiz Aliyev and Deputy Director of Altyaghach NP Orkhan.
The Czech Embassy in cooperation with Azerbaijani partners supports the development of environmentally responsible tourism and thus the sustainable development of attractive tourist regions.
