On 14 October 2026, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Baghdad organized the High-Level Business Forum and Matchmaking Event focusing on the Czech Solutions for Iraq’s Water.

Czechia Water Business Forum: Iraq brought together Iraqi private companies, decision-makers, project owners, investors and contractors with a specialized Czech business delegation comprised of leading companies and experts in water management, wastewater treatment, desalination, and other smart water technologies and related infrastructure solutions.

The Forum with almost 150 highly interested participants facilitated direct engagement between Iraqi and Czech companies, showcased innovative technologies and practical solutions, identified business and investment opportunities, and supported the development of commercial partnerships and project cooperation in Iraq's water sector.

The programme featured a high-level panel discussion, presentations of Czech technologies and project experience, contributions from Iraqi stakeholders, followed by direct B2B and B2G matchmaking.
The introductory panel gave the clear frame to the complex picture of the water and water related issues. Two and half hours long presentation section of the event provided expertise, presented experience of Czech and Iraqi companies in implemented projects and provided information on planned projects by Iraqi ministries.

Direct interaction of Czech and Iraqi companies and government representatives underscored the significance and contribution of this Czech economic diplomacy event for further development of business and economic cooperation, not only in the sector of water.
