HE Ambassador Šnaidauf has been received by Prime Minister Al-Sudani

Prime Minister of Iraq Mr. Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani received Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Iraq, Mr. Jan Šnaidauf, at the Prime Minister's Office in Baghdad on November 10, 2024.
Both officials discussed bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and Iraq and possibilities of their further development. They also touched upon current international developments in the wider region of Arabian Peninsula.
Both officials discussed ongoing economical projects in Iraq (Development Path, oil, gas and electricity sectors, water management, environmental solutions). Ambassador expressed continued interest on behalf of Czech Companies to participate in the development of Iraq - on a commercial basis in various fields of Iraqi economy. The Czech Republic also continues to provide development assistance to Iraq. Recent donations were directed mainly to health sector, aim at environment, education and humanitarian aid.
The Prime Minister encouraged European Union countries to increase their efforts that would help to stop the wars in Gaza and Lebanon. He also stressed the necessity of delivering relief and humanitarian aid. And the necessity to mitigate impact of the war on the region and the world.
Czech-Iraqi bilateral trade in 2023:
Czech Republic is an export oriented country. The bilateral trade of Czech Republic and Iraq amounted to 5,7 bil CZK in 2023. Czech Republic exported mainly cars to Iraq and imported crude oil.
