
Ambassador visits sponsored mobile clinic in Sinjar mountains

There is a mobile clinic that provides basic care for people in the remote areas of Sinjar Mountains. The project of this mobile clinic is receiving financing from the official Czech Development Program - CzechAid this year. On Friday February 21, Ambassador Jan Šnaidauf had an opportunity to personaly visit the clinic and witness its field-work.
It was a great oportunity to meet the representatives of NAHRI organization, doctors and medical staff and some of its patients.
About the project:
The project of mobile clinic aims at providing a basic health care for remotely located Iraqi citizens in Sinjar Mountains. Estimated area population that will benefit from this primary health care service in 2025 is 2000 people. The mobile clinic serves between 15 to 40 people per its work day. These patients are examined by professional doctors and medical staff and receive basic medical treatments or medicine according to their needs. More complex cases are referred for advanced treatment in another institutions. Mobile clinic has several scheduled stops within earlier announced routes on a given day. Therefore appointments of patients and their needs are known in advance. The project of mobile clinic runs already for several years. In the year 2025 it will be co-financed from CzechAid funds by 500.000,- CZK (approximately 21.000 USD) along with additional funding from other sources.
