On January 14, 2025, representatives of the non-governmental organization ISEN visited the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Baghdad. This organization focuses on the promotion and issues of human rights and sustainable development.
Ambassador Jan Šnaidauf received representatives of NGO ISEN and recalled the great importance that the Czech Republic has traditionally attached to the issue of human rights - since the timesVa when Czechoslovak citizens decided to end the rule of the communist regime in 1989.
Various topics have been discussed at the meeting, namely the work of the NGO, campaigns promoting compulsory schooling in Iraq and, in this context also lack of protection of the interests of minors, their right to education and cases of girls who are not allowed to attend primary schools in Iraq. Representatives of the organization were interested in possible support of their projects, either by Embassy, the Czech Republic or the EU. Possibilities of cooperation between Embassy and NGOs were also discussed.
