2010-Film Festival “Days of Contemporary Czech Cinema in Athens“

From 3 to 5 June 2010 a film festival “Days of Contemporary Czech Cinema in Athens” took place at the new open air cinema of the Greek Film Archive “Lais”. The film festival was organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Greece, the Czech Film Centre and the Greek Film Archive with the support of the companies VIAMAR, AS and KORONA Travel – I.SIAMOS, Ltd.
From 3 to 5 June 2010 the film festival “Days of Contemporary Czech Cinema in Athens” took place at the new open air cinema of the Greek Film Archive “Lais”. The organisers chose films from the first decade of the 21st century covering various genres and themes. The following films were screened: “Cosy Dens“ (Pelíšky, Jan Hřebejk, 1999), “Želary“ (Ondřej Trojan, 2003), “Wrong Side Up“ (Příběhy obyčejného šílenství, Petr Zelenka, 2005) and “Little Girl Blue“ (Tajnosti, Alice Nellis, 2007). Every evening two films were screened.
The official opening of the film festival was held on 3 June. At the beginning Vice-president of Board of Director and Director of the Greek Film Archive Theodoros Adamopoulos and a representative of the Embassy of the Czech Republicin Greecegreeted the guests, including representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Greece. After brief opening speeches and a reception, the film “Little Girl Blue“ by Alice Nellis was screened.
The film festival was organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Greece, the Czech Film Centre and the Greek Film Archive with the support of the companies VIAMAR, AS and KORONA Travel – I.SIAMOS, Ltd.
