Official visit of the delegation of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Parliament of the Czech Republic

From 29 April to 2 May 2019, a parliamentary delegation, led by H.E. Mr. Lubomír Zaorálek, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Parliament of the Czech Republic conducted an official visit to Jordan.
Czech members of the Parliament held talks with H.E. Mr. Atef Al Tarawneh, Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives of Jordan, the 1st Vice-President H.E. Mr. Nassar Al Qaisi, as well as with the members of their counterpart Committee on Foreign Affairs, and members of Jordanian-Czech Parliamentary Friendship Committee, also held discussions with H.E. Mr. Ayman Safadi, Foreign Minister and H.E. Mr. Mousa Maaytah, Minister for Parliamentary and Political Affairs of Jordan. Among the topics that were included within the discussion were the situation in the region, Czech and European humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees allocated in the Jordanian territory, possible instruments to strengthen trade between the two countries and other issues related to possible domestic political reforms in Jordan - e.g. decentralization of the government, preparation of the new electoral law. Czech members of the parliamentary delegation were present at a gala concert organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Amman on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Jordan and the Czech Republic, which took place on 29 April 2019, at King Hussein Cultural Center in Amman. The concert was attended by senior Jordanian officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps and members of the Czech community living in the country.
