The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Amman organized a ceremonial reception on the occasion of National Day of the Czech Republic and the 100th Anniversary of the establishing of the Common State of Czech and Slovak nations at the Hotel "W" in Amman, on October 28, 2018.
The reception was launched by H.E. Mr. Josef Koutsky, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic. This event was associated with the exhibition held under PROPED (Economic Diplomacy Project) of the Czech glass products of companies residing in Amman, in addition to a presentation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic in the form of photographic panels introducing to the invitees the Czechoslovak history (the establishment of an independent state in 1918, followed by other milestones such as the Prague Spring 1968 up to the recent past especially the 1989 separation). More than 300 guests attended the reception including H.E. Mr. Muthana Gharaibeh, Minister of Information and Communications Technology of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and representatives of the local diplomatic corps as well as members of the Czech expatriate community. At the reception there were Czech specialties such as Pilsner beer and delicious Czech savoury dishes.
The 100th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia as an independent state was a centre of attention by many media, including the Jordanian government press Petra News Agency and the public channel Jordan TV, with whom the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Jordan provided an interview.
