Europe Day 2026 in Addis Ababa with a Czech stand as part of Team Europe

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Addis Ababa joined this year’s Europe Day celebrations as part of Team Europe, presenting a Czechia stand and sharing a taste of Czech hospitality with guests. The main Europe Day reception in Addis Ababa took place on 7 May 2026.
Europe Day, commemorating the 1950 Schuman Declaration, is celebrated every year as a symbol of peace and unity in Europe. In Addis Ababa, the 2026 Europe Day reception was co-hosted by the EU Delegation to Ethiopia and the EU Delegation to the African Union, bringing together representatives of Ethiopian institutions, the African Union, EU Member States, international organizations, and the diplomatic community.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic contributed to the program with a Czechia stand, offering Czech refreshments and providing a welcoming space for informal exchanges with visitors. The stand featured Czech and EU symbols and the Embassy’s visual identity. This year’s celebrations also included cultural activities and showcases highlighting European values and diversity, underlining the EU’s long-standing partnerships with Ethiopia and the African Union.
