Ambassador-Designate Jan Rouček Discusses Cooperation Opportunities with Ethiopian Airlines Management

On 5 October 2026, Ambassador-Designate of the Czech Republic to Ethiopia Jan Rouček met with the management of Ethiopian Airlines, led by Group Chief Executive Officer Mr. Mesfin Tasew. The highly informative discussion focused on opportunities to further develop cooperation between Ethiopian Airlines and Czech partners in the field of civil aviation. The talks covered the potential for future air connectivity between Addis Ababa and Prague, aircraft maintenance services, aviation personnel training, regional air transport and other business opportunities.
The Czech side presented possible areas of cooperation involving Prague Airport and selected Czech companies offering services and products for the aviation sector. Ethiopian Airlines shared information about the continued development of its extensive African and international network and its approach to evaluating potential new destinations. Both sides agreed on the value of maintaining direct working-level contacts and further assessing concrete opportunities for cooperation. The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Addis Ababa stands ready to facilitate follow-up discussions between Ethiopian Airlines and Czech partners.
