Ambassador Pavel Bílek officially handed over Czech support to schools in Elmina, Ghanaian Central Region, provided through CzechAid in cooperation with the Lemon Family Foundation on July 8, 2026. The donation includes 400 new double-seat desks for local pupils and a Czech-made Prusa 3D printer, which will help improve learning conditions and introduce children to modern technologies.
Investments in education are one of the most important ones we can make, because children are our future. Through the “From Floor to Tables” project, Czech support will help 14 schools in Elmina and the wider Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem area improve daily learning conditions for hundreds of pupils, many of whom have had to share overcrowded desks or study on the floor due to a lack of school furniture.
The project, implemented together with the Lemon Family Foundation, included the production and delivery of 400 new double-seat desks, directly improving conditions for around 800 pupils, while also supporting local carpenters and workshops involved in their production.
An important part of the donation is also a high-quality Czech Prusa 3D printer, which will be used in the ICT lab of M/A Basic School in Elmina, accessible to around 2,000 students from nearby schools. By introducing children to modern technologies such as 3D printing, the project helps develop their IT knowledge, creativity and practical skills needed for the future.
