Visa Appointment Booking System
I. Applicants for a short-stay Schengen visa to the Czech Republic and Slovakia should kindly book an appointment at the visa center of VFS Global in Accra at the following website:

IMPORTANT: We bring your attention to the fact that apppointments at VFS are fully booked approximately 2 months ahead so we recommend applicants to take this delay into consideration when booking an appointment.
II. Applicants for national long term visa and residence permit should kindly book an appointment with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Accra by e-mail only (see below).
Please note that you should send a booking e-mail ONLY at the moment when all necessary documents for long term visa/long term residence permit are COMPLETE. Therefore, if you send a booking e-mail and the Embassy will discover that your documents are INCOMPLETE or their validity is EXPIRED, the appointment will not be scheduled. Based on this procedure the Embassy can guarantee that a free appointment slot will only be given to those applicants whose documentation is fully prepared.
Please note, that started 29th November, 2019 appointment slots for long-term visa and long-term residence permit applications have been separated according to the required purpose of stay.
Applicants for the purpose of study should schedule an appointment on the following email: Accra.Student@mzv.gov.cz
All other applicants (every other purpose of stay, except employment) should schedule an appointment on the following email: Accra.Visa@mzv.gov.cz
Exceptions to the rule of booking an appointment for submitting an application for a long-term residence permit through the embassy´s booking system – RESEARCHER:
Applicants in the category of researchers and their family members are exempt from the obligation to register for visa application submission through the embassy's booking systems (registration boxes) even if they are not persons included in the government programs of the “ Qualified Employee Program” or the “Key and Scientific Personnel Program”. In this case, the applicant must request an appoitnment date in writing to the e-mail box of the Consular Section of the Embassy (Accra.Consulate@mzv.gov.cz) and provide a scan of the hosting agreement with the relevant scientific/research institution or school in the Czech Republic. If he or she is followed by family members, they submit applications for long-term residence for the purpose of family reunification at the same time. These applicants are then subject to an accelerated visa procedure.
Please note that as from January 1 2024 the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Accra does not accept applications for employee cards in connection with the novelisation of the Government Decree Nr. 220/2019 dated December 13 2023. Quota of applications for long stay visas for the purpose of business remains 8 per year.
The booking slots for long-term visa and long-term residence permit applications are opened on the 23rd day of each month from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Ghana local time for the appointments of the following month.
E-mails received outside this time will not be considered as valid.
Booking requests on wrong e-mail address is considered as invalid and will be given no appointment. In subject of the e-mail present ONLY your passport number.
Registration e-mails that have the functionality of not being able to send a reply from the mailbox to which they are delivered activated by the sender will be excluded from registration.
Each applicant is allowed to send ONE (1) e-mail only. Applicants who will send more than 1 e-mail (in case of duplicity of his/her passport number in the subjects of the e-mails), will be excluded. The applicant will receive an confirming e-mail from the Embassy.
The e-mail booking an appointment must contain the following data without any supplementary or additional texts or comments:
- first name and surname of the applicant
- date of birth
- passport number
- purpose of travel (e.g. study, family reunification, business, culture, blue card)
- phone number
- attachment- scan of the passport data page (ONLY IN PDF FORMAT))
- attachment- scan of the document proving the travel purpose (e.g. sport - signed professional contract, study purpose - acceptance letter from the university, family reunification - marriage certificate, birth certificate, ONLY IN PDF FORMAT)
Do not separate the multipl-sheet documents and do not add any supplemetary documents!
Electronic registration contains a random element. The applicant will only be given an appointment date if all the necessary requirements are fulfilled. All correct e-mails received before the available capacity is reached will be answered with an automatic response and will be processed within 7 days. When the capacity is reached, the applicant will receive an automatic response and can schedule an appointment date the following month.
The appointment dates are final and unchangeable. Cancelled appointments cannot be replaced by other applicants. If the applicant cancels his/her appointment, a new appointment must be arranged via e-mail under the above described procedure.
There is no other way to make an appointment for submission of above mentioned applications. The Embassy will not respond to attempts which do not follow the above described procedure.
Attempts to send registrations in bulk using software tools may be evaluated as spam by the antispam security of the mzv.gov.cz domain in order to ensure the functionality of the system for all applicants, as a result of which such registrations will not be taken into account.
