OFFICE HOURS FOR PUBLIC – BY APPOINTMENT

Monday and Tuesday, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.: acceptance of Schengen visa applications – to file an application, schedule an appointment  

Wednesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.: acceptance of Schengen visa and long-term visa / residence permit applications – to file an application, schedule an appointment  

Visa collection: Friday, 2 - 3 p.m.

Document legalization, incl. superlegalization: Monday and Tuesday, 2 - 4 p.m. + during office hours based on appointment

TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Abuja accepts Schengen visa and long-term visa / residence permit applications of citizens of NigeriaBenin, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo-Brazzaville, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Niger and long-term/permanent residents in these countries.

Citizens of these countries need a visa for short-term (up to 90 days) and long-term (over 90 days) stays in Czechia / Schengen Area.

Citizens of Nigeria also need an airport transit visa for transit through an international airport in Czechia / Schengen Area.

Citizens of Chad and Niger need an airport transit visa for transit through an international airport in Czechia.

Citizens of Benin can file Schengen visa applications also at an Embassy of France in Cottonou, which represents Czechia for Schengen visas  processing in Benin.

Citizens of Gabon can file Schengen visa applications also at an Embassy of France in Libreville, which represents Czechia for Schengen visas  processing in Gabon.

Citizens of Cameroon can file Schengen visa applications also at an Embassy of France in Yaounde, which represents Czechia for Schengen visas  processing in Cameroon.

Citizens of Congo-Brazzaville can file Schengen visa applications also at an Embassy of France in Congo-Brazzaville, which represents Czechia for Schengen visas  processing in Congo-Brazzaville.

Citizens of Equatorial Guinea can file Schengen visa applications also at an Embassy of Spain in Malabo, which represents Czechia for Schengen visas  processing in Equatorial Guinea.

Citizens of Central African Republic can file Schengen visa applications also at an Embassy of France in Bangui, which represents Czechia for Schengen visas  processing in Central African Republic.

Applicants who are residents, but not citizens, in NigeriaBenin, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo-Brazzaville, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Niger, can apply for a long-term visa / residence permit at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Abuja only if they have resided in these countries for at least the past two years.

When registering your appointment, do attach a copy of your residence permit. If you do not fulfil this condition, do file your application in your home country. Countries whose citizens are exempt from this rule are listed here.

HOW TO CONTACT US

Please pay close attention to the visa information on this website and do not e-mail us with requests for general information that is available on the website.

The consulate usually replies to specific e-mail inquiries within 3 days.

The consulate does not provide phone consultations on visas. Please send us an e-mail.

The consulate does not provide information on visa application status during the legal review period. The consulate notifies the applicant as soon as the decision is made. You can check the status of your long-term visa / residence permit application here.

Complaint according to Art. 47(1)(j) as specified in Art. 38(5) of the Visa Code can be sent to the e-mail address Abuja.Consulate@mzv.gov.cz.

The consulate does not use social networks to communicate about visas.

FEES

Visa / residence permit fees are collected upon application submission in cash in Nigerian Niaras (NGN).

LANGUAGE

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Abuja communicates in Czech and English when processing visa and residence permit applications. If the applicant understands neither of these languages, he/she must arrange for an interpreter when applying for a long-term visa / residence permit, at his/her costs. Examinations are conducted in Czech only. If the applicant does not speak Czech, he/she must arrange for an interpreter for the purposes of examination, at his/her cost.

1 January, 18 April - 21 April, 1 and 8 May, 5 - 6 July, 28 September, 28 October, 17 November, 24 - 26 December

The consulate also remains closed to the public during Nigerian public holidays.
