NEW RULES FOR BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT TO SUBMIT A SCHENGEN VISA APPLICATION EFFECTIVE FROM OCTOBER 2026

As of 1 October 2026, the system for booking appointments to submit Schengen visa applications has changed.
Applications for the purpose of professional sports (e.g. 1st and 2nd football leagues), business, culture, training/internships, and conference attendance:
The inviting entity on the Czech side (a Czech legal entity, sports club or its agent/representative, Czech company, organization, etc.) must send an email to abuja.consulate@mzv.gov.cz containing the names of the invited persons, the purpose of travel, and the travel dates. Based on this information, the applicant will be assigned an appointment within approximately two weeks, subject to the capacity of the office.
Applications are accepted on a continuous basis (i.e. not only on the registration day).
Please note that appointments will be assigned ONLY on the basis of an email request from the Czech entity.
Applications for tourism, visiting family or friends, airport transit, medical treatment, seasonal employment, and applications for the purposes mentioned in the previous paragraph that do not meet the condition of having an inviting Czech entity:
Registration in the existing appointment system remains mandatory. For information on the next registration round, please follow the website.
The appointment system for submitting applications for long-term visas/residence permits and for superlegalization remains unchanged.
The next registration will take place on the 15th October from 08:00 to 14:00 CEST (Central European Summer Time, UTC+2).
