Notice to Applicants – Employment Cards/Unskilled Worker
15.04.2026 / 10:58 | Aktualizováno: 16.04.2026 / 15:51
Due to numerous inquiries regarding Employment Cards, we would like to remind applicants that, based on the Government directive dated December 13, 2023, it is no longer possible to apply for an Employment Card / Unskilled Worker at the Embassy in Abuja. This program has been cancelled for all applicants within the Embassy’s consular accreditation.
Applications for the Blue Card (Highly Skilled Worker with a University Degree) are still being accepted. If you are applying under the Highly Skilled Worker Program, please submit your work contract for verification so that an appointment date can be scheduled.
Please note that even if an applicant holds a valid work permit, this does not entitle them to be granted a visa or to receive an appointment to submit a visa application. Applicants are therefore advised to exercise caution when dealing with various employment intermediaries or recruitment agencies that offer job placement services for a fee.
More information regarding visa applications is available in the relevant section of our website.
