On September 5, 2019, an opening meeting of the participants of the educational program for the Nigerian youth was held which is implemented and financially supported by the Czech Republic in very close cooperation with the Cardinal Onaiyekan Peace Foundation.
The Czech Republic perceives the need to help in developing countries and thus contribute to improving the living conditions of people in the poorest areas. Thanks to cooperation with the Cardinal Onaiyekan Peace Foundation, the Czech Embassy in Nigeria, through the institute of the so-called small local project, contributed financially to the realization of the retraining and education program for the Nigerian youth. Thanks to this project, unemployed young people from the margins of society have the opportunity to learn new crafts and find employment in the labour market. With this project, the Czech Republic also contributes to addressing the causes of youth migration.
On 5 September 2019, a ceremonial opening of the program took place with the participation of representatives of the Cardinal Onaiyekan Peace Foundation, headed by Sister Aghata and economic diplomat of the Czech Embassy Ms. Beata Matusik.
