Ambassador of the Czech Republic presented copies of his credentials in the Republic of Congo

The Ambassador Pavel Mikeš handed over the copies of credentials into the hands of Congolese Minister of Foreign Affairs, H. E. Mr. Jean Claude Gakosso, on February 2, 2017. The meeting with the Minister was held in a friendly spirit and it was concerned especially on the economic and commercial collaboration.
The Ambassador Mikeš stressed the Czech Republic´s interest in developing cooperation between the both countries. The Minister Gakosso, who visited Prague as a student and keeps warm memories of his visit, considers the support of the traditional relations between the Republic of Congo and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe as very important. According to him, there is the need to educate a new generation of Congolese elites. The Ambassador Pavel Mikeš said that the Czech Republic is interested in renewing cooperation especially in the field of energetics and agriculture, which are fields where the Czech Republic can offer a lot. The meeting was held in the presence of the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in the Republic of Congo Mr. Sèrges Mpoungui. The Ambassador P. Mikeš met also the minister of agriculture and the minister of oil industry of the Republic of Congo.
