Minister of Agriculture Mr. Marian Jurečka on his official visit to Nigeria

Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic Mr. Marian Jurečka visited Nigeria from May 10th to May 12th 2016. He met with many representatives of the Nigerian institutions and on May 12th, 2016, he made an opening address on the Nigerian-Czech Business Forum in Abuja.
H.E. Jurečka was accompanied by a delegation of officials from Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Trade and Industry. Czech businessmen were also part of the group.
H.E. Jurečka met with Vicepresident H.E. Yemi Osinbajo, Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Power, Works and Housing H.E. Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola and Minister of F.C.T. Abuja H.E. Mr. Muhammadu Bello. Minister Jurečka also met with presidents of both chambers of Nigerian parliament and the Governor of Bauchi State.
On May 12th 2016, Minister Jurečka opened the first Nigerian-Czech Business Forum, where representatives of more than 20 Czech companies introduced themselves to their prospect Nigerian partners.
Honorary Consuls of the Czech Republic from Congo-Brazzaville and Niger were present in Abuja to discuss the possibilities of the agricultural and business cooperation of their respective countries, too.
Deputy Minister of Defence Mr. Tomáš Kuchta met with H.E. Mr. Mansur Dan-Ali, Minister of Defence of Nigeria, and with the Chief of Air Staff of Nigeria Sadiq Abubakar. On Thursday May 12th 2016, a scholarship at the Czech University of Defence was solemnly offered to Madam Nenadi Hedima, wife of the late Wing Commander Chimda Hedima (http://www.simonateba.com/2016/05/16/czech-govt-offers-scholarship-wife-nigerian-air-force-officer-killed-bokoharam/ ).
Separate meetings were held at the National Investment Promotion Commission, Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority a Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
