Wreath laying ceremony to commemorate United Nations Day.

On October 24, 2023 at Martin Place in Sydney city centre, Australian officials and members of the local Consular Corps commemorated United Nations Day and marked 75 years of the organisation’s peacekeeping missions, in the presence of the Governor of New South Wales H.E. Margaret Beazley.

Zuzana Slováková, Consul-General of the Czech Republic in Sydney, took part in the commemorative ceremony by laying a wreath in the national colours of the Czech Republic by the Cenotaph memorial.

United Nations peacekeeping missions are one of the main tools of maintaining international peace and security in the world and have become a symbol of peacekeeping efforts of the United Nations, to which the Czech Republic actively contributes by sending armed force representatives to také part in United Nations peacekeeping operations.
