The Consul-General took part in the Ukrainian cultural festival UkiFest 2024

On March 16, 2024, the Consul-General of the Czech Republic in Sydney Zuzana Slováková took part in the Ukrainian cultural festival UkiFest 2024 in Darling Harbour, Sydney, alongside other representatives of the local Consular Corps.

The festival, which is the largest of its kind in Australia, was organised by the Ukrainian Council of NSW with the financial support of Multicultural NSW, as more than just an opportunity for the local Ukrainian community to meet, but primarily to give the wider public the chance to come into contact with Ukrainian culture and express solidarity with regards to the current Russian invasion.

The Minister for Multiculturalism of New South Wales Stephen Kamper, NSW MP for Auburn Ms Lynda Voltz and the Ukrainian Ambassador to Australia H.E. Vasyl Volodymyrovych Myroshnychenko, gave welcome speeches at the event.

The festival presented folk dance and musical performances as well as other cultural displays. Stands offering a wide variety of traditional Ukrainian food and products were also present at the event.
