Embassy of the Czech Republic Symbolically Joins the "Orange the World" Campaign

November 25 marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. This day marks the start of the annual UN Women "Orange the World" campaign, which runs until December 10.

The "Orange the World" campaign is a reminder of the continuing need to support programmes to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls, with special attention to the most vulnerable groups. It aims to disseminate success stories that demonstrate that effective strategies can prevent violence against women and girls. Last but not least, the campaign aims to strengthen the active participation of women and girls in the policy-making processes that will lead to positive change around the world.

The traditional colour of the campaign is orange. On November 25, the Czernin Palace, the seat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, is illuminated in this colour every year. The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Riga hereby symbolically joins this campaign.

More information about the "Orange the World" initiative can be found on the UN WOMEN website here.
